CEO – PETER NZUKA MALONZA

Deputy CEO – ANNABEL NDILO

Coordinator – MARY

My dad was deaf and I saw the challenges he was passing through also I did research to find out why they are not mach recognized in private sectors in terms of job allocations, politically, banks movie theaters etc…

WHAT HAVE YOU ACHIEVED SO FAR

I started with creating awareness concerning deaf Community and positive remarks is coming out also after visiting different private companies are ready to employ them and also have sign language interpreters in their Organizations

VISION

To change the policies and practices that promotes discrimination and encourages inclusivity where the deaf and disabled are treated equally.

MISSION

To work in partnership with Government institutions, private institutions and religious leaders to rescue the Deaf community from the injustices they face in our society today through preserving and protecting humanity rights for the deaf and disabled.

HOW ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR THE RIGHTS OF THE DEAF SOCIETY AND DO YOU GET ANY GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

Moving across the country creating public or society awareness about Deaf community, visiting private sectors, religious, political parties movie theaters etc..

Currently am not getting any support from the Government since the Organization is in the process of growing but plans are there to seek Government support.

CHALLENGES

Financial hickups because the project requires a lot of traveling so issues of transport or logistics need to be addressed, discouragement from people, buying hearing aids for people who are partially Deafy also need money, and many more.

FUTURE PLANS

To make sure every County Government has information centers for deaf community so that can be easy to mobilize and  address issues concerning the country election, out break like  the current pandemic Covid-19 deaf Community suffered  a lot, have every County Government to have a big hospitals to address issues of hearing impairments for free, every Governor to have sign language interpreters whenever they are addressing public and every leaders every aspirant vying for a particular seat should have a sign language interpreters whenever they are campaigning for deaf community to understand their manifestos and make their personal decision.

ADVICE TO PARENTS WITH DEAF CHILDREN AND ANY PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED

Having disable child is not a curse to they should accept them and educate their children without fear for not getting jobs because the issue of jobs will fight for them until every private sectors have employed then including supermarkets, Embassies etc..

PARTING SHOT: we need to change the mindset of African countries and say having physically challenged child is not a curse is normal so they should accept them as other children because every child is a gift from God and every person created by God has a purpose on this Earth.
