Editor of Mount Kenya Times Gets Nominated For International Woman Of the Year award

On the 30th of November 2021, several women across the globe shall be awarded in Delta states in Nigeria.

Paula.O.M. Otukile from Botswana is the founder of Mulher Forte African literature awards project, this initiative does not focus on promoting literature alone, but got various aspects such as promoting society awareness on everyday issues such as Covid-19 pandemic, bogus publishers versus legitimate ones, Gender Based violence and sexual abuse awareness campaigns in forms of webinars and workshops, Paula engages diverse groups, mainly writers and poets from various African countries to explore such topics and raise awareness.

The amazing part is that Paula, goes to traditional wards in her communities and schools, doing girl children gender based violence and sexual abuse awareness workshops focusing on girls than on boys separately, she says that she does this to give importance and emphasis on both genders, she does not do talks alone, Paula. O. M Otukile is a renown writer, and has published a children’s book on gender based violence and sexual abuse called “Thato wishes to be a butterfly!” Which is translated into 5 international languages being Swahili, Portuguese, Spanish, Setswana and English.

The book won an international award on 31 July 2021 in Johannesburg South Africa, at the Global AfriCAN author’s honoree awards.

Paula. O.M. Otukile has published interesting stories of love called “Because I love him!” In Setswana and English.

Currently, she is writing daily for Mount Kenya times newspaper and for Diaspora Times weekly newspaper, and Listen to Africa magazine, which is a monthly issue, and recently engaged as a columnist to the Swahili magazine in the Netherlands called Sauti ya Afrika, meaning the voice of Africa.

At her tender age Paula. O. M. Otukile is mentoring diverse communities of University students from Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, South Sudan, Zambia, to name but a few.

The awards are an initiative of SAVE THE GIRL CHILD ADVOCACY, AFRICA and the handing over Ceremony shall be in Delta State, Nigeria, but the winners on Diaspora shall receive the awards beforehand in order to participate virtually.
