  • In this instance, the bug would have got in deep. Actually, reminiscing over his past, Munashe was overwrought with peals of laughter at how eventful it has been. In light of the stated above, he draws his inspiration from various artist who l like to call instagramours such as Ibor Edos Victor from Nigeria @edos_artistry, Onius Chiketa @Questrademedia, Brandon Tsakundwa @b.t_photography, Prince Meyson and last but not least Saddam Mapundu @CMStudios just to mention a few.
  • Adding to that, Munashe has also joined productive WhatsApp and Facebook groups such as Zimbabwe Photographers, Zim Adventist Photographers plus the Global Photographers. In most cases, many people fail to recognize that these social platforms were formed for us to easily conduct business not to while away time, chatting conversation that at the end of the day will not produce anything fruitful for you.

I have always had this fascination over what really photography is all about. Besides that, l like to pose for the camera and later on look at my photos appreciating the wonderful work that God did on me.

Yes, that is what is coined “feeling myself” or being comfortable in the skin that you are in. If you must know, each and every one of us is a great piece of art molded by the skillful hand of God. As a result, never let anybody tell you otherwise.

Back to the crux of our story, photographs play a big role in reminding us of either a buried memory or a particular point in time when that snapshot was taken. Presently, digital photography has taken center stage, plus the photos no longer have to go through that arduous process to have them in the palm of your hands.

Now this is where Munashe Josiah Chipatiso pitch in. Truthfully speaking, to shame the devil, Munashe is the guy to call because he is a professional camera man who knows the right amount of light needed for the visuals to come out splendidly and correctly.

Munashe is a 22-year-old and is an Environmental Engineering student at Chinhoyi University of Technology, Zimbabwe. Also, he is a poultry farmer besides being an avid professional photographer.

He states that the love for learning new things led him to discover that he was wasting away his talent, for he had an eye for capturing the right moment through the big lenses. Life is so much easier and rosier whenever he is snapping off pictures to his heart content. Whenever he has a camera in his hands, he feels like shouting, “Let’s get this party started.”

Thus, in a bid to realize his dream, he saved enough money to buy himself a camera, which was a Nikon D3200. Consequently, through photography he has travelled extensively, seeing many places through his camera which is his second sight that is never far from reach. I bet without his camera near him, his fingers instead of twiddling will be itching to click something. In Zimbabwe, the only resort area he hasn’t been to is Manna Pools. With his iPhone 6S in hand, he is always capturing scenic views.

He knows it as a fact that with the right equipment he will go far. Indeed, it is noteworthy to highlight even using your personal phone that could be the beginning of great things for you. You have to start somewhere in life, and that is the moral of the story being portrayed by Munashe. Therefore, as time fly’s by, likewise you will be growing in whatever line of work you are entailed in.

Munashe started his journey by taking pics of monkeys, flowers, sunrises and sunsets as well as his friends for free. This is yet again another life story that when you embark on your dream, stop thinking about the dollars and perfect your art before the cash starts coming and rolling in.

Without doubt, we all have bills to pay and settle but before thinking about money put yourself out there and become the master of your art which l like to call “being the master craft.”

As a learner taking baby steps in the world of professional photography, Munashe started watching YouTube tutorials more than he was paying attention to his Engineering assignments. Over and above these YouTube tutorials are his daily bread and are part of his morning routine, after all through them, he has learnt quite a lot.

For that reason, it is safe to conclude that indeed, knowledge is power. Somehow l can relate to this his story, when the bug gets to you, as an individual you will have a hard time shaking it off. All you will be visualizing is your success story written in bold capital letters and for that reason it will turn you to become a workaholic of some sort, addicted to your own work, thus everything else in life will come in second.

In this instance, the bug would have got in deep. Actually reminiscing over his past, Munashe was overwrought with peals of laughter at how eventful it has been.

Adding to that, Munashe has also joined productive WhatsApp and Facebook groups such as Zimbabwe Photographers, Zim Adventist Photographers plus the Global Photographers. In most cases, many people fail to recognize that these social platforms were formed for us to easily conduct business not to wile away time, chatting conversation that at the end of the day will not produce anything fruitful for you.

Like any kind of profession, Munashe has been at both sides of the spectrum that is the good and bad. For the latter, other people have criticized his work but most of it has been constructive, so he told me.

Accordingly, his aspiration in life is to become a serial entrepreneur in these various line of work he has got both his feet in that is media (photography and cinematography), farming, music production and engineering. Undoubtedly, Munashe is a young man who has got nothing to lose in ensuring that he reaches the top.

As a result, he envisages himself dominating in all these fields, but most significantly in the photography world. In this respect, the growth and success of his media company during these past 6 months since he has started is proof enough that he has great potential to reach the stars. Fortunately, enough, financially wise he has managed to get satisfying returns, thus his cost and benefit analysis worked in his favor.

That said, due to a reliable financial muscle power, he has managed to buy some lighting equipment. In particular, this yearend, he wishes to have upgraded his equipment from his initial beginner DSLR Camera to those recent ones such as mirrorless cameras. It goes without saying that nothing beats walking hand in hand with the current times.

Sophisticated products such as phones and cameras need to be changed now and then because technology is being improved on a daily basis, thus new features are being added. It is then wise to do away with obsolete products if funds permit.

In marketing, one shouldn’t be a laggard that is the last user to use a particular product when everybody would have done away with it. Instead, you should aim to be the innovators who are the first users or any of the early adopters. This is why Munashe is of the strong belief that with this new equipment he will have upped his game immensely.

Unlike most people, Munashe has always believed in his capabilities. Following this line of thinking, he informed me that he will forever follow his heart to make sure his ventures grow to become something worth talking about. Another perk attached with photography is that you get to interact with various people from different walks of life.

Having said that, the life of a photographer is enriched and never short of excitement. Every assignment you get is a challenge to prove to yourself and to grow professionally. His IQ has developed more due to these interactions. For that reason, he wishes to spread his wings wide and expand from only being a force to be reckoned in Zvishavane to other parts of Zimbabwe such as Mashonaland west and the metropolitan, Harare.

As the interviewer, l came to the realization l had to quote his words because this last part is full of wisdom. He lucidly elaborated that what wakes him up, each and every morning is not the alarm but, “The dreams that I have and the timelines that l have set for myself in which God-leading, l will accomplish them as planned.”

In short, my treasured readers, follow your heart and chase your dreams. Humble beginnings shouldn’t deter you from conquering the world. Individuals like Muhammad Ali started low-key, but up to now their indelible mark cannot be rubbed off. Thus, Munashe is doing his part, how about you?
