While others chose to pick toys,
she had to pick rags.
While others tried out various cuisines,
she had to eat the food collected from homes or charity given.
While others go to play to their friend’s house,
she had to go to houses in search of work without any choice.
While other’s house was where they made sweetful memories,
her house was a shelter to many like her for centuries.
While others have someone to call mom and dad,
she is waiting for someone to endear her as their own lad.
While others have shoes on their feet,
she walks barefoot even in a street.
While others have everyone by their side to call them their own,
she faces the world fully all alone.
While others rise and shine again and again,
she moves in search of happiness but alas! all goes in vain.
While others stand with everyone to gaze upon watching the stars,
she stands there all alone beholding the scars.
While others intend to travel,
she stays solely by fighting the battles of survival.
She was never given a chance to claim,
and people out there call her an orphan.
